Remove Reflection of Windows on Dock?

Hi Tim,
Can't see any way to stop this apart from hiding the dock.

You might try putting the dock on the right or left side of the screen.

In those two locations you don't get the reflections thing.

I've been keeping the dock on the right for years.

You can have it autohide so the only time it shows is when you drag the mouse to the bottom of the screen.

Try this in Terminal.

defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean YES
killall Dock

You cannot do what you're asking. There are only workarounds for this, including the 2D dock and perhaps making the Dock smaller...

The "reflection" means that application is running. It's a reminder to quit all applications befofre shutting down your Mac.

No, the little light means it's a running application.
All items in the dock have a reflection all the time.

You would have to modify the Dock's code to remove the OpenGL reflections being used. This isnt as simple as replacing some texture file, or altering some preference file.

I recommend to stop poking around in System codes as they are.

I'm sure that we will see you many times back here on the discussions board with issues you didn't even know they existing.

The mirror reflexion you see in the Dock is there to check witch Application is running.

Also you can hide the Dock automatically when this is bothering you.

You are the first Apple user I ever seen passing this Apple Discussions Forum with a question like this. Millions of other Apple users all over the world don't have the *annoying problem* as you describe. I think it's something personnel.
