Lost Loopy Loops Help!

Good day folks, I have a few Macs this ones got an issue with loops. I do a LOT of audio, some video too, but mostly I record music. I've just installed the latest Logic Studio and it seems to have met up with Garage Band and Soundtrack Pro.

The problem is that in the library/audio section, all of the loops are now .caf files. Both Logic and Garageband are telling me that I have NO APPLE LOOPs and have to reload them, but they are there; in the Library. The Garageband file in the library is full of loops that are ALL listed as .caf files. Did they somehow get converted?

Soundtrack is the default at the moment, if this helps.

So how can I fix this? My son uses the audio tracks in Garageband and he can't access ANY loops?

Too weird.

imac, Mac OS X (10.5.8), 3g ram

Not sure what versions you upgraded from but they've been .caf files for a while now.

You might have to re-index the loops and content. Use the Setup tab in the file browser of Soundtrack. Garageband also has a function, try finding it in the help files or manual, that will re-index the content.

After reading many a post about this, I'm sure that this is the way to go. I don't see a set up tab in the file browser. Where is it exactly, I've been looking around for a while.

Can't seem to find it in Garageband either.

If they have been .caf files for a while, why won't garageband open the loops in the library?

Thanks for the help by the way.

I'm a little behind the times in versions but they're probably the same. This is with 10.6.1
