When I mouse over a phone number (or address) in an email message in Mail, an arrow appears that lets me add a new contact with that phone number directly to address book from mail. Unfortunately, when I fill in the information and click "add to address book," the little window disappears but the contact does not appear in my address book.
Any suggestions for fixing this? Thanks!

I have called support twice so far as I am having the same issue. I have repaired permissions and deleted the plist files in both Mail and Address Book. This hasn't helped.
quit Address book and Mail and delete the file homedirectory/library/application support/address book/AddressBook-v22.abcddb. then start Address Book and Mail and try importing a phone number again. see if it works now.
Before Snow Leopard I could simply drag a couple of email addresses from mail
into a new group in the Address book. This does not seem to work anymore
I'm on 10.6.2
This is my problem too. I received an email in Mail with lots of address in the CC field. I want to copy all of them into a new group in Address Book. Before Snow Leopard, I just highlighted and dragged; now I don't know how.
Be careful - deleting AddressBook-v22.abcddb clobbered my AB, deleting 2400 of my 3100 contacts.
However, then I replaced the newly created version with the backup one I had moved aside, and adding contacts from Mail started working again! Go figure…
