Lexicon Omega into Garageband?

I've hooked up my Lexicon Omega into my Mac and have it selected as the audio input in GB '09, but am getting no level showing up in GB when I plug in my Strat. (Strat is plugged into instrument jack on front of the Omega, USB assign to 1/2, line 3 level up at 3 o'clock.) I can hear myself through the headphones output on the front of the Omega-but a lot of white noise--not just typical 60khz strat noise. What am I doing wrong?

iMac 3.06, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

So you say you have line 3 turned up to 3o'clock so my guess is you're plugged into input / line 3. But you chose input 1/2 in garageband. Never using a Lexicon but my guess is you want to choose input 3 Mono in garageband seeing your guitar is a mono instrument and you plugged into channel 3.

Thanks, I just figured out I hadn't pressed the red button to arm the track. Now I can hear the guitar. Now I'm trying to figure out how to hear the monitor mix with the GB amp/stompbox? (All I hear is the dry signal from the Lexicon...)

You have to turn monitoring on in garageband track info under the input source. You also may need to set your Lexicon to monitor the playback.
