MP620 Two Sided Printing

Can someone explain to me what happened to the two sided printing that was available in Mac OS X Leopard. Since i've upgrade to Snow Leopard i can't seem to be able to print on two side of the page. I find it a little bit stupid because the printer was bought for it's multifunction INCLUDING two sided printing and now I cannot do it anymore. If any of you know what i can do to get to option back if there is a specific set of drivers that i need to download to do so or whatever

I would really appreciate it

Hello wclef,

The menu to print duplex is still the same for Snow Leopard as it was for Leopard. From the print dialog, change the menu to 'Duplex Printing and Margin'. You will see a checkbox labelled 'Automatic Duplex Printing'. Check this and you will be printing two sided.

If you don't have 'Duplex Printing and Margin' then you may be using the Gutenprint driver instead of the Canon driver. Open Print & Fax, select the MP620 and click 'Options & Supplies'. The General tab will confirm the driver version you are using.

Doesn't this means i'm using the canon drivers ?

Yet i still can't do duplex print jobs anymore

ok I have reinstalled The Drivers and now this is the version i have : 10.26.1.0
I went through the options and i saw that duplex printing is diactivated...

Now i don't understand this. I had mac os x leopard and i could use duplex and now i can't.

this is ridiculous

This is so frustrating I've just tried to do duplex printing in windows 2000 WINDOWS 2000 and it works now why would they disable that option from the new set of drivers.

I'm sooo mad right now.

This is no way to do things. Promote a printer, have people buying it for a specific set of features and deciding out of the blue that they will deactivate some option for no reason. I say plenty of options in the printer menu that 90% of the people will never use but one useful option that 100% of people use duplex printing Apple decides that they take that off.

I really doubt it is on Canons side caus if it was duplex would not work in windows 2000 but it does.

I'm just ****** right now

This is the current Canon driver for SL & your printer: mp620sosxns10ea7-3.dmg
Download and instal. Hope it works!

the only drivers i could find were

mp620sosxcp102610ea8-2.dmg
i'm searching for the ones your referring to but no succes

I've finally found the drivers you were referring to and there is no difference so yup apple just decided for no reason to disable that feature....

Apple has not disabled the feature. It is part of the Canon printer driver, not an Apple provided menu. If you do not have the Duplex Printing and Margin menu with the v10.26 driver, then something is wrong with your driver. If you do have the menu but find that you cannot click the 'Automatic Duplex Printing' checkbox, then check the Page Setup menu for the application you are using. If the 'Format for' menu is set to something other than the MP620, then this could be impacting your ability to select the duplex checkbox.
