no boot after ONYX

My friend has a 24" iMac (not sure what year...06?) running 10.5.8

I recommend Onyx to him and he downloaded and says he ran maintenance. Then went to reboot and computer chimes, apple logo, exactly 3 revolutions of the gear and then freezes.

Apparently there is a disk in the drive and we've been unable to eject. When holding down mouse button or eject on keyboard the computer shows only a blank white screen.

Need some help with ejecting (no hole) to try and boot off DVD and possible solution as to why it won't reboot after running ONYX

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Hi Gordon

Have your friend startup holding the Option key, then from the Startup Manager window select the *Mac OS 10.5.8 on Macintosh HD* to startup from.
