USB to Dock Connector Cable

Hi all. New to the site so firstly hello. I’m about to get an iPhone 3GS and I’ve bought a second USB charging/sync cable from Ebay which was stated as the latest edition genuine official apple cable. What I’m querying is the fact that there is no Apple logo on the USB connector and the dock connector end has no push buttons for the tag release? The locking tags in the dock connector are in the shape of triangles so it’s a push in-pull out connector rather than having to push in the two release buttons and pulling out the dock connector. Is this the new style of cable or is it a fake? The cable has the writing as on an official cable about it being designed by apple in California and made in China

Could be genuine. Later apple cables are just push in/pull out, and don't carry the apple logo.

I've never seen any writing on an"apple" usb cable. Just the usb symbol & connect symbol on the ends. They are push in, pull out design. Most of the stuff claiming to be apple on ebay appears to be china knock-off stuff. Not saying yours is, just that there are alot of fakes out there.

A lot of cables are the result of 'overproduction', made in the same factory at the same time as those supplied to apple. This is common contingency practice in manufacturing, with the 'extras', if not required, sold on.

I've tried these many times with no problems, anyway they are so cheap you aren't risking much. Try one.

Cheers for the replies, makes me think they are genuine. They certainly look genuine and exactly as my other older genuine apple cable. It will actually help me being the push in-pull out as im going to buy one of the miniot iwood cases so removing the dock connector will be made easier
