"yahoosync has stopped working" error message

After installing vista service pack 2 whenever I try to sync my phone with itunes i get a error message saying "yahoosync has stopped working" when it tries to sync my contacts with yahoo.
I badly need my contacts to sync with my yahoo account.
I have had a lot of problems with programs after the vista service pack 2 and have found that if i reinstall them they work fine again.

if I uninstall iTunes then reinstall will I lose all of my apps and iphone settings stored in itunes?

iphone 3g, iPhone OS 3.0, windows vista sp2 - itunes 9.0.1.8

You shouldn't lose anything by simply reinstalling iTunes - the data stays where it is (in my experience).

It sounds like your problem is more with your email accounts: try deleting them on the iPhone and and recreating them. It seems to work for others in the same situation....

The emails are syncing fine its just my contacts sync with yahoo. Im pretty sure its the vista update as iv had to reinstall quite a lot of other programs.

so I can remove iTunes and reinstall without losing my iphone data? I really dont want to have to wipe my iphone due to itunes losing its data???

In my experience (others, please correct me if I'm wrong), uninstalling and re-installing iTunes does not result in any loss of 'Library' (which is where all of the other data is held).

If you're worried, backup the 'Library' (folder) before you uninstall.

You should be ok!
