Dragging files with same name, different dates to one folder

Sometimes when working on things I name documents the same name, but have different "takes" on them, usually different creation dates and modification dates, with different contents. I'd like to be able to search for them by name and then drag them all into a folder without any of them being overwritten. I don't think I've ever been able to do this in any of the versions of Mac OS I've ever used, but I was hoping someone had a tip or trick that would let me do this without having to purchase a cleanup program.

I'm not sure if it will work, but perhaps you can try Folder Actions. Perhaps you'll find these useful:

[Folder Actions Reference|http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/AppleScript/Conc eptual/AppleScriptLangGuide/reference/ASLR folderactions.html]
Cheers.
