No Printer Utility for Epson C84

I am using an Epson C84 with Snow Leopard, and when I went to find the Printer Utility to change toner cartridges, it opened but did not list my printer! Also, I found the Printer Utility Lite, but it says there are no printers registered.

Help!

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.1)

FWIW, I have the same problem only with the Epson 2200 and R200. I've wiped Gimprint out of my system and installed what purports to be 10.6 friendly drivers for the 2200 (though the date on the package is Jan 2008). No joy. I can't install any drivers for the 2200 and the Epson Lite utility continues to complain that my printers aren't registered. This is highly annoying, as there is no other way to unclog its print heads that I know of, other than to run the Printer Utility on it.

If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears.

Before I loaded the Snow Leopard upgrade, my Epson C84 printer worked with all the options. Since I loaded the upgrade to Snow Leopard, the option for 'printing preferences' is no longer available. I would prefer to print in black and white.
I followed the instructions, went to Epson.com and downloaded the correct driver for my printer, Epson stylus C84.
Now the printer does not work at all. Please help me find where that Epson download went.
I am a former pc person. Search methods are so different on a Mac.
Thank you.

Hello,

I'm having problems printing with my Epson C84 too. I've upgraded to OSX 10.6.1 / Mac Pro. The printer was fine on my previous OSX 10

After downloading from Epson the new driver for 10.6 and then adding the printer in the system prefrences, when I print something, I've had 2 issues:

1. The paper was fed through the printer with nothing printed

2. and now after trashing the 'Epson' folder from the HD/Library/Printers, I get a 'pause' when I print - and an error '/usr/libexec/cups/backend/usb failed' when I resume.

Did you get your printer to work again after trashing the Gutenprint driver? If so, how?

Thanks.
