Disk Utility Restore Dead End?

Before getting a new Macbook Pro, I made a disk image of my BOOTCAMP partition from my old MacBook Pro. After getting the new machine, I have been unable to restore this disk image on to a newly created BOOTCAMP partition. In Disk Utility:

1. If I try to restore without mounting the .dmg, I get "Restore Failure: Could not find any scan information. The source image needs to be imagescanned before it can be restored."

2. If I try to restore after mounting the .dmg, I get "Restore Failure: Could not validate source - Resource busy"

A google search showed a couple other people running into this problem online, but no solutions. Anyone know what mistake I'm making? Or is this a bug?

17" MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.1)
