New iMac with existing iPhone

Hi there,
I have a new iMac with MobileMe and an existing iPhone. I have managed to setup everything i.e. MobileMe is working 3 ways. The problem I am having is when I want to sync my iPhone to iTunes on my new iMac it want to erase my music and applications on my iPhone. How do I do an initial SYNC ONE WAY from my iphone to my iMac and thereafter 2 way SYNC?

Unfortunately, iTunes sync for iTunes media items is only one way, computer to phone.

What you can do is copy your entire iTunes folder from your old Mac to your new one. You can either use an external hard disk to do this, network the two Macs together, or use Firewire target disk mode. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1661

You should move all information from the old computer to the new one, then sync.

The iphone is not a back up device.
