Oops, I posted this as a reply in another topic, so I'll do it here as a new one. My Mac won't see my Canon 7D when I plug it in. It should show up as a drive, just like my little AVCHG camera does. I have installed Canon's EOS Utility software, and it will see the camera and take in stills, but not video. So I know the cable is OK. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Had the same issue when a client brought in a HD project on a 5D MKII.
I located the movies on the 5D with iPhoto and imported them and then moved them to
my capture scratch folder. There's probably a better way but that worked for me with a tight deadline.
Have you tried Log & Transfer??
This camera doesn't work with Log and Capture or Log and Transfer. My strategy is to open the flash drive (or camera) and manually copy the files to the hard drive or you can leave them on the camera/flash drive and transcode them manually.
