Battery won't charge part 2

I Know something similar was posted recently, it did not help me, though. Here is the problem:

The battery to my mac laptop won't charge ( all the info is below.) I think it has something to do with the fact that I lost the power chord that came with it and had to buy another one. My battery has not re-charged since I started using the new power chord. If my laptop is not plugged in, it won't turn on.
I tried turning it off, unplugging and taking the battery out, pressing the power button for five seconds, putting the battery back in and replugging (SMC reset?) and it still would not work.
