I recently downloaded iTunes 9 and iTunes 9.0.1 and have had this problem ever since. When I click the "iTunes Store" it takes a long time to load, then when its done loading, most of the screen is white with everything crammed over on the left side of the screen, making the page really long. Theres also a couple of ads for albums and things jumping all over the screen. I know this isnt what its supposed to look like. I have never had any problems with iTunes before version 9, so it probably isnt my computer.
I waited this out hoping 9.0.1 will solve it but it didn't. Do you guys think the new 9.0.2 will help? Why did start happening with 9 & didn't happen with the other MAJOR verisons? Does Apple know about this?
They couldn't help me over the phone. I'm supposed to take the laptop in to their genius bar at lunch today.
What anti-virus, firewall or internet security suite software do you use? Reading several other threads makes me think the problem is there, not with iTunes. I use CA Security suite. I saw another thread that suggested a fix in CA's Parental Controls tool. I'm going to try that when I get a chance.
I use CA Security too. I have tried turning the firewall off, but it didnt seem to work. I think it is something with the computer itself, not the actual iTunes program. Maybe the video card or something?
Let me know what they say when you go to the Apple Store
It's fixed! Problem was the Parental Controls tool in CA Security, not the Firewall tool (and not iTunes). When I logged in to Parental Controls as Admin (it was set to Default), suddenly the iTunes Store updated itself. I was able to search and download. Not sure what the setting/problem in Parental Controls was. Perhaps worth looking into some rainy Saturday...
