Help playing music on TV with Apple Composite AV Cable

I have a new Samsung 650 TV and a new Touch 32G as well as an old video ipod 5th. I run Vista & iTunes with all the latest updates. After connecting the ipods to the TV with the Apple Composite AV Cable both will play videos with audio but neither one will play music or stream Pandora. How can I get them to play music on the TV?

Ipod Touch 3rd, iPhone OS 3.1.2, Samsung 650 LCD TV, Apple Composite AV Cable

hi
you need a cable that will plug into your headphone jack and the other ends are 2 rca type plugs that will go into your right and left input on the tv
i got my 12 foot cable like that from my local dollar store
works fine on my tv- never tried the composite av cable- i would just assume it is only for video out distribution
good luck

I've encountered the same issue. I have a sony tv at home on which the cable works great for either audio or video. Yet when i went on holiday i couldn't get the audio to play through the hotels samsumg tv. I've tried this on several different samsumg models and it always seems to be the same - so i'm currently concluding that its samsungs software that doesn't like not receiving a video signal when it gets an audio one.

sorry this isn't a solution, if anyone has one please let me know
