voice list for "say" and apple ][ like "vtab" / poke 33,34 ???

Hi,

I have a few questions:

1) Is there a way to get a list of text-to-speech voices in the terminal ? The say command allows a -v option to specify a voice, but there is no way to see what options to use without having to open up system preferences and click on speech which is a pain.

2) Is there a way to place text in the terminal window at a certain x,y position? On the old apple ][, you could do vtab 1: htab 10: print "hello!"...

3) Is there a way to freeze a line of text in the terminal? In other words, If I have "hello" at line 1 of the window, can I tell the terminal to only use lines 2-xx so that line 1 is always "hello" regardless of scrolling, etc?

i'm not sure what to suggest for the other two parts of your question, but system voices are all located here: /System/Library/Speech/Voices/
