Not true. The new update is for all ipod touches.

Yes upgrade to the new software. There is NO requirement at all that says it is only for newer ipod touches.
Anyone can upgrade any ipod touch to the new software.powerbook g4, iMac 20, Mac OS X (10.5.1), airport express, iphone, ipod, ipod touch
