Mainstage Karaoke!!

I don't think this will work. The text box cannot change per patch...which makes it pretty useless for lyrics, considering the fixed size of the canvas. I'd contact apple with some feedback.

I don't think that's true. The text area can have different text per patch. I use it for exactly that purpose. I have one patch per song, and I put the lyrics in that box that I have trouble remembering. As I scroll through patches, the contents of the box changes. Isn't that what you're looking for?

You're absolutely right. When I first started used Mainstage I used it for exactly that purpose; to bring up a "page" of lyrics for a song when I selected the "patch", which was actually the song title. The patch would set any effects, and display the page of lyrics, notes for chords, etc. Worked great. The page won't "scroll" automatically, so you will have to adjust your font size and perhaps abbreviate if you have a song with lots of lyrics. Stairway to Heaven and Hotel California would need some work!

The one thing you could do is to set up your channel strip in a set, and have different pages of text in each patch inside of the side. Then when you scroll through the patches, you would see new pages of text, while keeping to same set level channel strips.

Consider opening your lyrics in Text Edit (font adjusted for easy viewing) and minimizing Mainstage or running a second monitor for lyrics...?
