Importing to existing event

How to I import a photo to an ongoing existing event that I already have an event created for? At the moment, whenever I import photos I have to give it a new and separate event.

MacBook Pro 13" 2.53ghz, Mac OS X (10.6.1), iPod classic 80gb

Simply, you can't. Each new Import always creates a new Event.

You can move files between Events, merge them and so on, in the iPhoto Window.
