Is there a video converter which actually WORKS for 3GS?

I've tried a half dozen, including itunes. None of them work. Seems there is something in the new 3Gs and/or itunes 9 which prevents you from playing any video you want. I've got a ton of MP4 files which will not play on the phone, but will play in itunes. When I use itunes to "convert to iphone" them I get great audio but blank video.

Just got done trying Daniu but the video is stuttering, sometimes goes all green screen.

I'd pay money for quicktime if I could be sure it worked or my money back. At the moment I do not trust Apple for anything other than taking my money.

Please advise if you know of a conversion software which works.

Thanks,
-Bob

I use this program http://www.xilisoft.com/ and it works with my 3GS. You basically pick iPhone from the profiles and that's it. If my memory serves me correct though, I have on occasions just dragged and dropped MP4 video over into iTunes and the video played fine.

Every file I download from them is corrupted and will not run

I downloaded both the Mac and PC versions of Videora from there yesterday and installed them with no problems (they were newer than the versions I had been using).

Don't understand how you would get corrupt files.

I give Videora a try, but I had lip sync issues, whereas with Xilisoft Video Converter I never get this.

Most of the time (but not all of the time) when I put video on the iPhone I put a film or two off of DVD's I own on to it so that I can watch some of my films when I am away from home, which with Xilisoft Video Converter and a program I have running in the background (to remove the protection so as to allow the conversion to go ahead) performs this task brilliantly, the picture quality is superb and that's with Xilisoft Video Converter set on the normal quality settings (default settings), there is a higher and highest quality settings above the normal quality settings, but with the excellent results I get on normal I don't see any need to use the higher quality settings.

Admittedly Xilisoft Video Converter isnt free (I paid around £35 for it) but it performs the task easily and you never need to alter or adjust any settings on it. The only thing you do need to tell it, is what device you are wanting to play the converted video on, i.e. iPhone, iPod etc and also tell it where you want the converted video stored, but that's it.
