Regarding the (original) Vortex game on my 160G iPod ...

Let me first begin by saying I absolutely LOVE the (original) Vortex game on my 160G iPod classic.

I only discovered it this week, when I was stuck overnight away from home, without being able to sleep. I was stuck, and in great need of distraction. Discovering Vortex was quite delightful. I've been playing a full game every day now.

Just to find out more about this ingenious game, I went to the iTunes store, looked it up, and found out that now there is a completely different game for sale now, also called Vortex. How could this be? My iPod isn't that old, either ('07 or '08). Does anyone know what happened there?

The game I am discussing is all about throwing a ball into "bricks", and the goal is to eliminate all the bricks before you can ascend to the next level, where a new situation applies. The graphics and imagination that went into Vortex are very fine, indeed.

I know that our iPods don't last forever, and wish to know if it's possible to find this same game somewhere where I can use it beyond the (finite) life of my iPod... Perhaps I am asking for the impossible?
