Logic Studio 9 Installation Failing, any suggestions?

Hello everybody,

I've searched through the forums and the technical help and even what numerous Google searches have to offer, and the closest thing to it I've seen is a "bad second (Audio Content 1) disk." I am apparently able to get the base Logic Pro, MainStage, Compressor and Soundtrack Pro applications installed. However, I can't install any of the libraries, and regardless of how I run through the installation, it fails after churning the Audio Content I disk for approximately 15-20 minutes. I've been working on this all weekend and am at my wit's end.

I'm trying to install Logic Studio on a Mac Pro 2.66 GHz Quad-core Xeon with 5GB of RAM and nearly a terrabyte of available space. More specifically, the applications are installing on a 120 GB application drive and libraries on a separate 1TB storage drive, both running the same RPM. I haven't had any problems with my hardware, in fact, I ran a couple disk utility hdd scans after the first attempt, and a battery of tests on my FB-DIMMS in single user mode after a couple more failed attempts. No errors there, and I'm well beyond the minimum requirements of this suite.

Naturally, I assumed since my hardware was working, I was trying to install with a bad copy of Logic Studio. So I took my copy back to the store I purchased it, was fortunate to swap it out with another copy, and am experiencing same-exact-problem with this new copy. From what I can tell, it's preventing me from installing the libraries for which I paid the $500 +tax. I didn't see anything in the console, so I backed up my personal data, wiped the application drive clean with a 1-pass 0-write format and did a full re-install of Snow Leopard.

Now I'm thinking the problem might be the Mbox Mini 2 I'm using for my audio interface, but I don't have concrete data; just reductive reasoning. After re-installing Snow Leopard, the first thing I did was re-install the Digidesign sound drivers for my interface. Then I tried installing Logic Studio 9 again (attempt 6).

Popped in the Logic Studio Install disk and followed the on-screen instructions.
Estimated install time 2 hours 34 minutes. Sounds about right for nearly 55GB of data.
After a half hour churning the Logic Studio Install disk, it opens the tray asking for my Audio Content I disk.
It churns the disk in the optical drive for a few minutes, and the estimated installation time jumps up to 33 hours. The progress bar keeps moving along, until about the 25 minute mark when it pops out the tray asking for the Logic Studio Install disk so it can "finish" the installation by telling me the Installation Failed and I need to contact the vendor. My console output shows the following:

10/25/09 7:17:38 PM Installer[517] The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.
10/25/09 7:17:38 PM [0x0-0x33033].com.apple.installer 2009-10-25 19:17:38.524 Installer[517:903] The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.

I'm holding off on installing the rest of my software (Reason, Abelton Live Suite 8, Drumkit from ****, all legitimately purchased and owned by me) to prevent any conflicts with third party applications which may cause the Logic installation to puke. Has anybody encountered this? Did I really get two copies of Logic Studio with bad disks? This is incredibly frustrating.

Hoping somebody has answers (and I'm sending a support request to Apple as well),
