Time Capsule USB Drive Slow - Acceleration
A simple way to (greatly) speed up data transfer between TC and an external USB drive:
...connect TC and Mac via Ethernet cable
...in Airport Utility, turn TC Wireless 'Off'
...Update TC
In addition, under Spotlight Preferences in the Systems Preferences, set both the TC and the USB Drive into Privacy Mode for the duration of larger file transfers.
...Begin file transfer
About one hour for 30GB (instead of est. 255hrs otherwise).
