Mail Asks for Keychain Password

Why does Mail ask for my login keychain password whenever the computer wakes from sleep? Never did this before I upgraded to Snow Leopard. I'd like to avoid resetting my keychain if possible. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I am having a similar situation. I have 5 different accounts on Mail and they usually work fine. However, the AOL account randomly produces a popup stating that aol.smtp.com did not accept my password. Sometimes it will pop up five or six times in a row before accepting the password. This occurs every time I use Mail. My sbc account requests a password about once a week.

I am having the same problem, MAIL keeps popping up a window saying my password is rejected, please re-enter and click here to save in keychhain... I know my password is correct as I have entered it a thousand times recently, AND I do get email sporadically... so when will APPLE find a solution to this, if it is indeed a problem with MAIL or KEYCHAIN.

I am getting really fed up with this, and am desperate for an answer or some help from anyone...please!!!!

Thank you.

Ok. I notice when it does it for me.
I have an email account x.xxxxx@windowslive.com and xxxx passcode.
But the same exactly i have and for facebook log in.
If i log in to fb, then the mail to receive mails, asks me for pass.
Αnd reverse.
Ιf i give the pass to mail and i PRESS the keep in keychain, then safari asks me for fb login pass.

Hope that helps apple to resolve the problem

I ran into this problem in 10.6.1. I have a secondary keychain whose password differs from the system password. Here's what fixed it:
1. I made all my keychain & system passwords identical. This in itself didn't fix it, but I left those passwords in agreement, so I don't know if this step is necessary.
2. In Keychain Access Preferences, under the First Aid tab, I checked the box to sync the keychain password with account.
I got the idea for this from this site:
