Working Cards (PC and Aluminum 20" or 23")

So I was wondering if maybe we could start a discussion on what cards work, rather than what cards don't work (with the 20" displays and PCs). I have noticed that some posters have already stated which cards work, although not in an organized list. So now I will define work rigorously.
Working means:
1. Card must display BIOS and POST (dos mode) when connected.
2. Card must work with Windows or Linux to display full resolution.

So here is a question: Do all of the NVidia cards work provided one uses the latest driver? Also, are there any PCI Express cards which work....

Finally, my NVidia Geforce4 Ti4600 (Dell provided) works ....complies with both working definitions seen above.

Asus V8460 Ultra (GeForce4 Ti4600) works OK with 23" Alu.

Does show BIOS/DOS and 1920x1200 runs fine.

I know it's an old card, but for people who don't want to play games, it's a nice piece for $50 at eBay.

!!!!!!
BY THE WAY, for those of you who post a reply here, please write THE MANUFACTURER OF YOUR VIDEO CARD. Just writing "6800 Ultra works" is not enough, since a BFG 6800 can work fine while a MSI 6800 could not (just an example...)

Hello,

I have a BFG 6800 Ultra OC and it works just fine although I did down load the latest forceware software. I see BIOS and everything. My software is WinXPpro with spk2 and fully updated.
The only issue I have noticed is that when you start a game and the game controls the antialiasing it sets it to 0 so I set it manually to 8x and this makes the games very very nice. You should see FarCry......amazing.
Regards
Nick

Hello,

Just wondering if someone has succeed in using this display with Linux? If so, which card and which XF86config file have you used?

Thanks.

It appears that severalof the posts here are from people using Apple computers and not PC's. I installed an Asus GeForce 6800 256MB DDR3 on two different Dell PC's, one running Windows 2000 and the other Windows XP Pro. It did not work on either machine but my guess is that I received a bad card and will get a new one next week and follow-up.

On a 23" screen, nothing less than 1920 x 1200 should be considered successful.
