Samsung SCX4500W is impossible to install on wireless network

I just bought this printer, and it is absolutely impossible to install on the wireless network. My Macbook simply doesnt find the printer, so Im unable to give it a static IP.

I have printed out a configurationreport, and it has the IP 192.0.0.192, and when I put that in the adressbar of Safari, it doesnt find it.

I have tried connecting the printer to my Macbook with an ethernet cable, and USB, and tried Wirelessly. Nothing works! Why must this be so hard?

Hey all,

I have the same question. How to install (step by step) Samsung SCX-4500W printer in wireless network? Do I have to use SetIP? I would like to have this printer with dynamic IP, is it possible?

OK, I figured it out.

1. Connect MacBook with an ethernet cable to a printer.
2. Run SetIP application then give a proper IP to a printer.
3. Connect printer to a wireless router with ethernet cable.
4. Connect under Safari with given under point 2. proper IP.
5. Use built in creator and configure wireless connection.

Finish.

Well, my mother's iMac doesn't find any IP adress of the printer when connected with ethernet directly. Really ******* me off! Tried everything, but guess most easy solution is returning this **** thing.. Driving me crazy!

Try to connect it with an ethernet cable and a notebook with a Windows onboard, then execute SetIP program.

When I connect the printer with USB it works. Scanning too.

But it seems to be impossible to get the wifi working, as I can't access the configuration page. I do know the static IP of the printer, but entering this in my browsers won't work. Also, I've tried to install it on my VMware Windows XP piece, but no luck..

Really stuck here!

You must set the new IP of the printer with SetIP program. Find out what's your current IP of the router, then use the same in SetIP, with another last digits. E.g. your router's IP is: 555.55.0.1, give the IP to your printer: 555.55.0.10. Then put this address: 555.55.0.10 in your web browser.
