USB & Firewire slots on the back of Apple 20" display?????

Hi,
Can somebody help me with this please.
I have recently purchased an Apple 20" cinema display and noticed that it has 2 USB ports & 2 Firewire ports. Can you attach anything into these ports or is it there to allow the Apple Isight to connect to the monitor?
I have tried connecting my ipod to the back of the monitor but there is no response.
Thank you for your help
Dan

HI I just bought a new Mac with 20 inch cinema display. I use one of the USB ports to plug in my Wacom pad and assume it works in the same way as a powered hub. At least I hope so since the G5 only has a couple of USB slots at the back and one at the front. I plugged my camera into a firewire slot and it also works. Try connecting something else, maybe the i-sight hasn't been recognised.
