How do I restore my iBook G4 to it's factory settings?

Apple iBook G4, Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Click here and follow the instructions in the relevant article. If there's any data on the drive you want to keep, move it to another computer first.

You would boot from the iBook's restore disc, erase the hard drive, and then restore the drive.

Why do you want to do this?

what if you don't have the original disk. i have 10.1 and is old as dirt lost password to admin and can't change settings or restart from orignal what do i do?

bossladi, Welcome to the discussion area!

You can not boot an iBook G4 from a 10.1 disc.

You can not boot some of the iBook G3s with that disc either.

Only the clamshell iBook G3 or first model iBook G3 (dual USB) can boot from the at old disc.
