Try resetting the iPhone by holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple logo.
You can also try restoring the iPhone from recovery mode, as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
There may be a hardware issue caused by the repair, if it persists after resetting or restoring from recovery mode.

I would be so lucky to have the option to force restore
I cant turn it off either. seems the buttons don't work...
When i plug the power in it goes straight to the apple logo etc as before.
I think i have smoked it....
Will teach me for taking things apart to c the insides...
maybe you have some more ideas i can try?
Like take it apart completely, and start again...:)
