Transfering pictures from iPhone or iPod to my computer?

just recently all my computers crashed! Hardcore! and of course i had nothing backed up, but thank god all my pictures that i had on my computer from like 10 or more years are stored on both my iPod classic and iPhone, I want to get these back on to my computer so I can save them on an external drive I just got, is there anyway to do this? Can anyone help? also, how can i get my music on my ipod and iphone back into itunes? for some reason not even my purchases are on there? Help. Please!!!

Syncing music is one way only, unless you bought the media content in itunes. You can transfer your purchases by right clicking on the phone in your device list and choosing "Transfer purchases". Disable autosync in itunes before you connect your phone. Back up manually the same way. Photos are optimized for viewing and reduced in size and quality. Pictures not taken with your iphone are not part of the backup. To transfer the rest of your media you'll have to use 3rd. party software like http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy or similar for example.This is not supported by Apple.
