Quicktime 7 can be installed along with Quicktime X. It will be installed together. Even better, it can be used together. Simultaneously, together, at the same time.

When I installed Snow Leopard, I got Quicktime X. Checking the version numbers, I then deleted Quicktime 7. However, when I did that, I lost my QT system preference pane. So, Although QT X plays my videos, I have no control over it as it also does not have preferences in the application itself. Because of that, I tried to reinstall QT 7 and was not allowed to since I already had QT X.

How do i get both?

Hello.
I am sorry to say that I tried that and it didn't function. Even trying to install Quicktime 7 from the Snow Leopard disk I stay with my Quick time X (no trace of Quick time 7) and the worse is that quicktime doesn't appear in the "System preferences" pannel. (I don't know why) So although I bought a key to install Quick Time Pro I am unable to registered.
Doesn't anybody have an idea of how to solve the problem?
Thanks in advance
K
