Convert .wmv to .mp4

Hi

I need to convert a .wmv file to mp4, to use in Flash.

I had hoped to purchase Quicktime Pro to do this, but under 'Tech Specs' on the Apple website, .wmv is not listed as an import option.

I can play .wmv in Quickime so I had expected Quicktime Pro to be able to cope with it - can anyone confirm if Quicktime Pro can convert .wmv files please?

If not, can you suggest a good alternative? The quality of the final video is important!

QuickTime Pro can convert WMV to another format, but if the conversion is being powered by a free version of Flip4Mac, the exported file will have a watermark and anything exported to WMV will be limited to the lower of half the video or 30 seconds.

QuickTime can't do anything with WMV content when Flip4Mac isn't installed.

What you have now is the free trail of Flip4Mac. The free trail only allows playback of .wmv, no conversions/exports. You need to buy the non trail version of Flip4Mac from Telestream to convert the .wmv to .mp4. You also need to buy Quicktime Pro.

I'd rather not have to purchase both Quicktime Pro and Flip4Mac, so any recommendations for one piece of software that will perform this task well, would be much appreciated.

Thanks Niel for the Media Converter link. Finally, an update for FF 3.5x. I was lost w/o Medida Converter. It's my favorite FF add-on. Strange it still shows on FF add-on page last update 4/09. 😟
It now works w/FF v3.5.4 for those interested.
