Block items from Apple TV sync

Basically, I want to know if there's any way to prevent this...

I have an Apple TV which is syncing automatically so I can stream items from iTunes which aren't stored locally. I've got a couple of longish christening films, etc. which I've stored in iTunes but which I don't want to be available/viewable through the Apple TV. Is there any way of preventing them other than turning on manual sync which prevents streaming of non-local content?

In the main iTunes media sections (music etc) there will be tick boxes next to content - untick those and they won't be available to sync to AppleTV (or iPods etc) - this is not the AppleTV Device entry but the categories for the actual media, so if you didn't like a songon an album untick it, and the rest would sync but the deselected track wouldn't.

Correction: custom sync does NOT prevent streaming.

in iTunes you click on the appleTV under devices, click on the summary tab, select custom sync. then if you simply uncheck the checkbox that says "show only synced items on appleTV" then the unsynced items will appear on the appleTV and clicking on them will result in them being streamed to the appleTV.
