Louis Vuitton sleeve for MacBook Pro - Anyone buy this?

Would you buy this for your MacBook Pro?

For the price ($715 US), you would think that it would fly should you drop it!

The reason that I ask is that I have a very rich client (expensive tastes) who recently converted to Mac - so I am looking for a good gift for him.

Something is telling me to go Booq or Tumi instead???

Dare I ask if anyone is using it, and if it is worth the heavy fee?

Dear Kieran N,
Louis Vuitton is tacky rubbish! If it is quality you are after, I suggest that you look elsewhere. Of course if you feel the need to impress (ape) petite bourgeoisie fashionistas. I see many tacky little country bumpkins in my area with counterfeit bags. It has become something of an anti-status symbol. I once heard it said that people seek status because they lack their own sense of identity. I will sell you a Louis Vuitton airsickness bag for $400,000 USD. However, someone has already puked in it.

Great post!

I have noted some thoughts to consider.

A) It is too big for a 15-inch MacBook Pro and too small for a 17-inch MacBook Pro. I would rather go for a Booq Vyper M3 sleeve, which has been custom designed for the MacBook Pro. The Booq sleeve has been designed to evenly distribute any weight or pressure on the notebook. I do not see anything similar on the LV. The Booq sleeve is nice a black. The LV sleeve looks like it belongs with a fruitcake!

B) Canvas? What is that? The Booq sleeve uses 1682D cross-weave ballistic nylon, which is far more durable than LV canvas.

C) Just because it is more expensive does not mean that it is better. Is a $3,000 Dell notebook better than a $3,000 Mac?

D) Many companies have designed exceptional, durable products specifically for Apple products. Personally, I love Booq sleeves, but Incase offers solid ones too. You can also check out the MacTruck, which is another exceptional product. http://www.RadTech.us

Save your money. Buy a Booq or an Incase sleeve, and use the balance for a Mac Mini!

I hope that this helps!
