Reverse & repeat an animation in Keynote '09

Hi,

I have a presentation which has been created on and imported from Powerpoint. It contains an animation of air molecules entering the mouth and travelling to the lungs (its for First Aid Training). On the PPT the animation reverses and repeats itself so the air enters and exits the mouth/ lungs etc like the person is breathing.

In keynote the animation only runs once - air enters the lungs, then stops.
I'm fairly new to Keynote and its builds/ animation so not sure if I can duplicate the effect on the original PPT.

Any ideas?

Tried this out tonight and it all works in principal...

1) Extract the slide containing the animation to a new keynote.
2) Export the animation using share/export/ quicktime
3) Import resultant .mov into original presentation.

However,
When I import I get a movie with a lot of whitespace around it covering up all the rest of the stuff on the slide.

So how can I export just the specific elements of the animation as the movie?

In the new Keynote that you extracted the animation slide to: go to the Metrics tab of the inspector and select the largest of the text box, shape or picture that is in the animation. It will tell you the exact dimensions of the object. Then go to documents tab of the inspector and at the bottom change the slide size to the appropriate size for the animation. You may have to reposition and resize some things since when you shrink the slide size, it will shrink the objects on the slide. But when you are done the animation will fill the whole slide and the quicktime exported movie will be the same size as the slide was, so it will not cover up anything else on the new slide.

Hope that all makes sense to you, if not I can try to explain a little better (after I have got some of my coffee in me this morning!).

Worked perfectly, but I can add an extra little trick that will help.

With the original method, it will scale the animation/ image down when you resize the slide. You can't then (easily) resize it back to the original without scaling eash element. If you group them they loose the animation...

So, simply copy the elements to the clipboard before you scale the slide. Then delete the now smaller elements and paste back the original size ones from the clipboard.

Perfik!
