Expose on Magic Mouse?

Hello, does anyone know how to use Expose on Magic Mouse? Squeezing together the sides and making all the windows optional is one of the best features ever! thanks, Dan

I'll tell you what I did: I got a Logitech DeNovo for Mac keyboard (not the "edge") which is wireless, but needs a usb dongle (not bluetooth); it has a bunch of cool functions overlaid on the top row function keys: brights +/-, F3-F6 used for various expose/dashboard toggles - you get to pick which ones), media control buttions, volume up/down/mute, eject, the four app buttons F16-F19; again, you pick the apps, the defaults are itunes, mail, safari, and calculator.

I like it quite a lot, and I prefer the traditional keys rather than chicklets. But, YMMV. Anyrate, with that keyboard, I don't miss the middle button or the squeezy side buttons on the old Mighty Mouse.

Thanks for finding this. I've tried to set them up as you have, but I don't seem to be able to configure them to right click + option (or command). I can set the left option (for instance) to all windows, so that when I press the left option button the all windows function is activated, but I can't figure out how to set it as left option + right click. What's the trick?

Yesterday I received my Magic Mouse and my surprise was when I checked It doesnt work with Expoxé or Space softwares (with that funtion with the Mightty Mouse I can change the diferents activate desktop) I dont understand why the new Apple Mouse havent got more functions in its buttons. May I use the Magic Mouse software to get more functions? If finally the Magic Mouse havent got the third button function I might give it back

Best regards

I just got the Magic Mouse, because I was tired of the clogging of the roller ball on the old mighty mouse. But I'm shocked that it cannot access Expose, because after 2 or 3 years of using Expose, I'm rather reliant on it. Expose is part of the Mac OSX experience, one of the things that make the Mac so much fun and productive.

You might want to check out this freeware app. I'm trying it, and it seems to work without any issues:

It takes a bit of time to get it to do what you want (disabling other preferences is important). But it's a suggestion for all of you.

you can activate expose for the magic mouse via entering 'system preferences' then clicking on expose and spaces. choose the expose menu look halfway down the page to where it says expose and a pop down menu labelled 'All Windows' look at the first column second row. and that is where you can program the secondary mouse button to activate expose.

peace.

...which totally overrides the ability to right-click to access contextual menus - so is effectively useless for most people.

A far better solution is one of these additional mouse drivers:

I just installed the Mighty Mouse and I can get it to do what I bought it for

Could you clarify that please? Did you in fact mean:

+"I just installed the Magic Mouse and I can't get it to do what I bought it for"+

and also, perhaps tell us what you bought it for, then we can tell you whether it's supposed to do that, and if it's not for you, how to resolve it.

Just a vote for Mouse Wizard:

I will say that when I downloaded the demo the center button didn't work, but a very quick & courteous reply from their tech support suggested:

In terminal, can you try entering this command: "rm ~/Library/Preferences/.MagicalWizard.plist". Then, relaunch MouseWizard.

I did this & now I have center button nirvana! (Mouse Wizard also supports a version of the squeeze button (they call it fourth button) and squeeze/bloat gestures.)

So far so good--it's made me much happier with my magic mouse.

Hello,

Just got my magic mouse today and it is definitely an upgrade over the mighty mouse. Using active screen corners isn't that bad once you get used to it and the two finger option again is pretty slick once you get used to it. No more hammering on the mighty mouse, just a delicate two finger swipe with no need to hold the sides, works flawlessly.
During the brief time that I have been using a mac I have encountered many times where it seems an oversight has been made, but I doubt there were ever oversights and there is likely a technical or financial reason.
I wouldn't let the absence of side squeeze buttons deter you from this mouse which is superior over its less mighty cousin.

I'm on day 3 with Magic Mouse + MagicPrefs freeware. I would not have purchased if not for MagicPrefs since I loved the side buttons (Expose) & using the scroll wheel as a button (Dashboard) on my Mighty Mouse. But, after 2+ years I got sick of having to frequently clean the scroll wheel when it lost ability to scroll DOWN. So far I love the Magic Mouse & have assigned a 4 finger click to launch Spaces, a 3 finger downward swipe for Expose & a 3 finger upwards swipe for dashboard. I already had assigned my active corners for other functions.
