Faster Magic Mouse tracking

Can't say I have this problem. I have a 23' display and can get from side to side and top to bottom quickly and without lifting the mouse. Not on maximum tracking or speed in System Prefs either.

Lost 2advanced-3-4 fingers gestures on my MBP after the software update...

Please, can you check if this is happening also on your systems?

As per the other thread... after 3 reboot (three!!!), now it works again... don't know what's wrong with the installation...

thanks Vic, MouseZoom is just what i needed.
As someone else mentioned something similar: the more reboots, the better the mouse tracking performed. But at the end of the day still not fast enough. MouseZoom does the job and according to the manual (for what's it worth) it's safe to use.

FYI...picked up a thread on Macrumors to try MouseZoom...tried it...liked it...running Snow Leopard on an intel iMac...perfecto mondo

Way too slow for my 24" iMac and for a solution to the horrible black runners underneath it, see my post titled slow magic mouse slightly primitive but works great on a standard mouse mat ( not shinny plastic ones though )

defaults write -g com.apple.mouse.scaling 6.0

You have to restart for this defaults command to take effect.

Got the Magic Mouse yesterday, everything about it is great except for the tracking speed. I got MouseZoom and even set to 10 (fastest) its still not fast tracking. Please Apple let us make the tracking speed faster!

Just received my Magic Mouse and am using it with a 10.6.1 MacBook Pro 4,1. Even with the relatively low 1440x900 resolution, this mouse is pathetically slow, even when jacked up to the fastest speed.

I've installed Zoom Mouse and that provided a bit of welcome relief, but I can't believe these drivers were shipped like this. Anyone with a truly hi-res screen is going to hate this thing.

I was also surprised to see that one must still lift their left finger to do a right-click. I thought I had read in an early review that this wasn't the case.

Seems like this thing was rushed to the market. I may have to go back to my Logitech m555b.

But really Apple, this is silly. The fastest tracking setting should be more than any user ever would desire. Grandma can back it down from there.

I have the same slow tracking problem that many others have mentioned - c'mon apple give us a fix.
Until then, Here is another vote for Mouse Zoom. Works well on 10.6

I used USB Overdrive in 10.5 with mighty mouse, because OSX control mouse acacceleration very strange way!

When you move the mouse on OSX, it first moves very slowly, so you move it faster and when you reach a certain speed the mouse suddenly accelerates like crazy. It is so unnatural and unusable.

However, I thing that magic mouse behave different way and acacceleration is better, but not perfect:(

Unfortunately, USB Overdrive dosen't work properly with magic mouse, but fix is on the way.

MOUSEZOOM is too slow for me, but better then nothing.
