iMac i7 Delivery Dates

It could well be that Apple is announcing something new and that they ran out of the old configurations, so they can't ship the updated models. It could be just something relatively simple as iLife 2010, but then that might affect the 21.5" models as well and they are shipping normally.

I ordered on January 4th with expected shipping on the 18th. I called Apple Store Nordic on the 18th and received an email saying that the shipment would be delayed by 3-4 business days. The same night, the online order page bumped my shipment forward by two weeks, which is where it is now. The US and Finnish stores give the same dates, but with slightly different wording:

If the machine is indeed "prepared for shipment", then it is either being held back because it needs to be announced first or because there are shipping delays. Two week shipping delays would seem quite extraordinary though, especially considering that the 21.5" models are shipping normally.

I am guessing it is the iLife 10 that is coming out because yesterday I called and they told me that they computer was already configure and ready to leave the warehouse and I check today and still its on prepared for shipment so that either means that it would be release of the ware house with the timing of the presentation, I figure that if it leaves shanghai, it takes 12 hour flight once it hits UPS or DHL, it would be here right for the same day of the presentation, and they don´t want people posting that they have the new iLife when it is not even presented, I am guessing thats the problem.

but surely we woulda got it on the same day if we ordered on the same day!!!? there must just be a delay with yours for some reason, i expect u will get yours within the next week and a half! xx

but you already got yours which is weird we order the same computer or you got the lower end 27 inch because that might be the reason

So after my order on the 31st of December the original date to be sent was last Friday. I received an apologetic email saying that it would be sent in the next 7 days. At this point i was a little annoyed but accepted the fact there are issues. 7 days later no change on the status. After a phone call to them, they explain it will be sent in a week. So that's 4 weeks after the originally said 2 weeks. I understand that they have issues with orders at the moment but in my opinion that does not excuse the fact that the order will take double the time. The apple store now states 3 weeks to be sent which still seems to be wrong as mine has been 3 weeks and still nothing has been sent. To be honest. If they were not sure they could send it in a week they should not have sent the email to me saying they will ensure it is sent within the week. Now, still haven't received another email saying it will take longer. The customer service at the moment is not something I will ever recommend to a friend. Everyone says they are great when you have a problem but I have not seen this yet. My first impressions of apple are not great and it is a shame.

I don't think so, because they have removed the date from the boxes so that suggests there won't be an iLife update for a while.

There are production problems though.

I don´t know but it was suppose to leave today because it still says prepared for shipment and that was and has been 4 days ago and no movement yet. Today its a friday and I guess its not going to move till monday.

I'm in two minds now, either cancel and go get a decent PC with a big screen or to wait and see if they do actually send it in a week.

Out of interest Switch900, did you modify your iMac? As you ordered it on the same day I presume mine will be sent roughly the same time if you have.

When I order it I just upgraded to the i7 chip, and instead of the wireless keyboard I got the apple keyboard without numerec pad next to the key its like the macbook keyboard style.

no don´t cancel man but for sure we should of had our order out today and still it showing like its still on hold, so this means something happen or we will definitely have to wait till Jan 29 for our order to leave the warehouse, all I know is that I have 4 days since it change from Not yet shipped, to prepared for shipment.

Not going to cancel it yet. But I think if it doesn't get sent by next Friday then I will. If it does turn up broken then who is to say it wont take another 4 weeks to get sent another. My main concern is that my laptop is old and struggling now and I need something quickly to carry on working as at the moment it randomly turns itself off.

Checked order status today 22/1/2010
iMac i7 and 2 other packages are now with UPS.
Checked tracking info on UPS UK Tracking and discovered parcel is at TAMWORTH GB and is due to be delivered on Monday 25/1/2010.

Good News as expected delivery was 9/2/2010 .

Ordered an i7 iMac online on 06/01/2010 with original shipping date of 21/01/2010 and delivery on 26/01/2010.

Shipping date has come and gone with no update from "not yet shipped." I called Apple and the support person didn't know (or couldn't say) why my iMac hasn't shipped yet, but she was apologetic and waived the expedited delivery fee for me (unsolicited by me).

Man, it sure is tough having this Mac monkey on my back!

Let us know if your machine arrives prestine with no problems that everyone has been posting like yellow ting and the flickering, crack glass, dead pixels etc.

My concern is if either you or I will get a good iMac or a defective one, I really wish we could the iMac at the same time, since it's Saturday I am not going to check if I gotten a status change, but looking at this problem I think we are going to get the iMac at the same time since your in France and I am in Spain.
