Ever since I installed Snow Leopard (clean install plus migration wizard), resume from hiberate is not working.
The progress bar for restoring the sleep image file gets to about 80% and then the Mac just reboots with no error message displayed.

What tools are available to troubleshoot hibernate issues?

You can try:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1411
and
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1237

And yo can read this article:

http://www.macworld.com/article/53471/2006/10/sleepmode.html

Hope some of that helps. If not, run hardware diagnostics and/or take into an Apple store and have them check the RAM.

I would try [resetting your SMC|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1411]--which has a lot to do with sleep functions.
