QuickTime 7.6.4 QTCF.dll Problem

Hi, I am getting the following error when trying to use Nero Showtime:

Problem signature:

Now I know it's is not the Nero software as this worked fine and has not been updated.

My PC is running Vista 32bit Business Edition.

iTunes was updated to 9.0.2 and QuickTime to 7.6.4 and now I am having problems playing video files.

I have searched extensively and have not yet found a solution to this problem, some have suggested copying QTCF.dll to Windows/System32 but that did not work.

Any advice would be appreciated

Best to get that copy of QTCF.dll out of your System32 (otherwise, next time you do a QuickTime upgrade, you might get told to update your QuickTime everytime you launch QuickTime.

Let's try swapping out your existing copy of QTCF.dll.

Quit out of QuickTime and iTunes if you have either running. (Actually, quit out of all programs just to be on the safe side.) Navigate to

C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\

Find your QTCF.dll and drag it to the desktop.

Now head into your Uninstall a program control panel. Do a *Repair Install* of QuickTime. Reboot the PC.

Head back into C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\ and confirm that the dll has been replaced.

If it's there again, try Nero Showtime again. Do you still get a crash? If so, is it still mentioning QTCF.dll, or some different dll?

b noir,

I have the same problem (XP Home Edition V.2002, service pack 3). I followed the directions you gave, but got same error as before. IPhone Explorer 0.973 (and also previous version) opens after the error notice displays 35 to 38 times.
I started getting this error (and one saying the correct entry point could not be found in SQLite3.dll) about the time I installed the new iTunes.I had an older version of Quicktime installed at the time.I upgraded to try to fix the problem.
I can't open the root directory with iPhone Explorer, even though I have a jailbroken phone. When I close the program, a msg is displayed "Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. Process ID=0x978(2424), Thread ID=0x820(2080)" with option to debug.
FYI, both iTunes and IPhone explorer worked on my computer at work (XP Pro).
Thanks for any help.

I also started getting a SQLite3.dll error about the same time as I installed the new iTunes.

Lets try to at least get the SQLite3.dll error sorted, spot.

Try the technique bas iam gives in the following post:

Not sure if that's going to help with the other issues though.

Suffering the same thing:
Win7 32bit Professional
Installed Nero 9 and Quicktime 7.6.4
Nero Showtime crashes while attempting to playback
any file containing audio track, if no audio - plays normally.
If I'll remove manually QTCF.dll from it's place,
than Showtime works fine, but Quicktime isn't working.
This library is something to do with sound, probably render?
