Phone is Silent for certain Appos

Problem - incoming calls are silent, some apps are silent (games etc.)

What works - ITunes can be heard on IPhones speakers

Settings - Silent mode disabled.

Corrective action taken - Phone reset, Restored.

Anomaly - can hear the games through headphones.

Anyone out there seen something similar?

G5 Imac 2.0 GHz 2GB Memory, Mac OS X (10.5.8), Airport Extreme and Airport Express used

Let's start simple - is the ring/silent switch on the side set to silent (orange dot showing)? When it is, incoming calls don't ring, but music still plays through the speaker, and some games do as well (depending on whether or not the developer chose to respect the ring/silent switch when coding the app).

Thanks, problem solved - Bloody Stupid place for a switch though, I didn't plan to use this feature. It does seem to be able to be inadvertently operated, thus causing people over 50 to take extreme action.

Once again thank you, this feature is now forever embellished in my mind.
