I am having similar situation with Canon 5D Mark 2 RAW files. Very pesty! Snow Leopard does not recognize them.

I guess I am right in thinking that Apple have not updated for that. Mmmmm and the format has been around for a little while now!

You're obviously new around here. Aperture is not a program for early adopters of cameras. Raw support for Nikon and Canon cameras typically ships within a few months of the camera shipping.

More to the point, anyone talking about a date doesn't really know, and anyone that really knows isn't talking.

Your issue is not a lack of support, it is most likely some issue with the upgrade to SL - there are a few threads here that discuss the 5Dmkii issue you may want to check.

(unless you shoot sRAW - that won't work)

When I bought my D90 I had the same issue, within 2 weeks it was updated and running the RAW files.

And support for a whole load of cameras never arrives at all. That is how Aperture is and how it has been for some years now, and I don't suppose it will change any time soon. If it is important to you to have RAW support for a wide range of cameras, then Aperture is really useless to you.

Besides, it´s a matter of OS X, not of Aperture.

So people keep saying, but it's really meaningless. At the end of the day, you can render RAW files from a bunch more cameras using other software than you can with Aperture.

I would recommend you clone your drive before uploading the latest camera raw update when it comes.
We got caught out when an earlier update corrupted some camera raw's that were working prior to update fortunately I had not upgraded my MBP so we were able to continue use that particular camera

SuperDuper is quite a good piece of software for the cloning
