Can't update Itunes

Hi. I just got a new problem out of the blue.
When I started Itunes today the update poped up as usuall, but after a couple of minutes it said: "error occured while installing the updates. If the problem persist, choose tools - download only and try installing manually."

I don't find that option and I havn't had this issue before.
If anybody can help I appricate it!

I have that same problem. I've never had any issues updating my iTunes software in the past (been a user since 2005), and now I can't download the update at all. I get that same message in iTunes, and when I try to download the update directly from the website, it stalls out. I tried downloading the update in 3 different web browsers (Firefox, IE, and Safari), restarted my computer, made sure my windows updates were all current, and still no go.

This is incredibly frustrating, especially since I have an iPhone and can't upgrade the software on it until I update my iTunes! At least I'm not alone in having this problem...
