Winging about "yellow tinge" here will not fix the problem - Apple is the only one that can do that for you and it looks like they have it well under control now.
So, cheer up - the help to your problem is only a phone call away 😉
Do it now and stop wasting time posting here...
Hi atlatnesiti,
I made a phone call, but they gave me no answers about the yellow tinge. They were polite and professional, but they gave me not one clear information about this issue.
I wrote two emails:

+Dear Apple Team,+
+Nov 2009 I wanted to order a new 27" iMac, but than I found this thread in Apple Discussions:+
+Topic : New iMac 27inch screen flickering/tearing/shutoff+
+I decided to wait with my order and I was very happy, when the 27-inch iMac GraphicsFirmware Update 1.0 (December 21) was released. After some days it was clear that this update didn't help everybody and there were still a lot of people reporting about the ongoing flicker issue. The release of the 27-inch iMac Display Firmware Update 1.0 (February 01) finally brought the solution.+
+February 2010 I was sure to order, but than I found a second thread:+
+Topic : Yellow tinge from bottom to top of the screen, 27" iMac+
+This issue is really strange, because some of the posters think it's not an issue, but probably an illusion. Many think that the problem is the immature IPS-technology, but what do I know. The only working fix seems to be the LCD & LCD cable replacement, but to speak clear, that would never be acceptable for me.+
+I've to admit that I'm an Apple Fanboy (24" iMac, iPhone 3GS, 4 iPods, ...) and I wanted to have a new 27" iMac i7, 2TB, 4GB under my Christmas-tree and I can tell you, my hole family can give evidence about that. I'm waiting now over three months with my order and I'm still hoping to get a perfect machine, but these spooky issues remain a big problem for me and I don't want to invest my hard earned money in a sort of lottery. I know that Apple would repair a faulty machine and that I could also have a refund in the worst case, but that's not a solution for me. I need a perfect working computer without compromises. I promised my 24" iMac to my son and he's also very disappointed about this situation.+
+Please tell me honestly, if it's safe to order now. If you're not sure, so please give me an indication when the yellowing will be fixed.+
+Thank you very much for your efforts+
+... still dreaming of an 27" iMac i7+

*I'm still waiting for an answer, but no answer is an answer, too.
Yea atlatnesiti, Apple is the only one that can solve the yellow tinge, but please don't try to convince us that the help to our problems is only a phone call away. Nice idea! :)*
*"Dear Potential Customer*
*You're absolutely correct, we do have issues with this current iMac and would prefer you not to spend your money on our latest and most up-to-date product.*
*We'll be sure to e-mail you when we think you should spend your money with our company but our advice, for the moment, is to hold off until we get it all sorted out or the technology matures. In the mean time please feel free to spend your money with one of our competitors.*
*Kind regards*
*The Apple Team"*
Do you honestly think you're going to get some response to your e-mail that say's something on the lines above?
