Finder error -51

Finder error -51

Hello guys,

trying to copy files to an SMB share, after a few gigabytes, finder reports error -51. I can't seem to find documentation for finder error codes.

Any help appreciated,

Not that it will do you much good? A lot of these error messages are obscure to begin with and probably only have meaning for the original programmers. Some of them are legacy codes that won't necessarily have any meaning for current operating systems. Some Samba Shares have problems if copying 2GB or more - especially if single files exceed 2GB. Try and copy in smaller chunks.

Hello Tony,

thanks for the links. I'm trying to copy a 50 GB directory, with a lot of files in it exceeding 2 GB, so obviously, SMB may not be the appropriate route to go. I will try FTP.
