Error code 2324 when upgrading iTunes to 9.0.2.25 - 64bit , Windows 7 Pro

Has anyone else encountered the problem in the subect title? Basically I'm hosed for now; I can't even uninstall iTunes...I get the same message. The prior version was working but when I tried to upgrade this morning...BOOM!

PC - with WIN 7 PRO, Other OS

b,

No indication of which file cannot be opened. It's unclear to me in what part of the process it bombed. I was able to finally upgrade by deleting all apple software other than iTunes and then was able to delete iTunes completely.

I then "successfully" did a clean install of 9.0.2 BUT NOW I'm stuck like many others in that iTunes now refuses to recognize my iphone, so I can't sync.

What a mess!

Hmmmm. Haven't done much troubleshooting on iPhone connections recently ...

But it occurs to me (on a basic-principles-troubleshooting sort of level) that if the iTunes install was an agony going in, then your current version of Apple Mobile Device Support might have ended up being damaged. If so, a repair install of Apple Mobile Device Support might be of some help.

I don't have a Windows 7 box to refer to ... Does it have an "Uninstall a Program" control panel, like Vista?

If so, try heading in there, selecting Apple Mobile Device Support, and doing a "repair install". If that goes through okay, try rebooting the PC and launching iTunes again. Does the iPhone have any better luck connecting now?
