Put old iPod Touch files onto new one?

I have a first generation iPod Touch, and live in fear of it suddenly dying on me. I've had it a good three years, which is seriously pushing it for iPod products. I was thinking about purchasing a new iPod Touch, but I wanted to know if it was possible to put the backup/sync info from my 1st gen iPod Touch to the newer one.

PC, Windows XP

Yes, just sync the new one with the backup from the old one, sync your music, apps, etc., and you will be good to go.

Seek counseling for the paranoia problem.

That is very good to know, although I may be slow, because I am wondering how exactly do you sync the backup from the old ipod into the new ipod?

I believe when you plug the new iPod in it will ask if you want to set it up as new or use a backup. There will probably be other posts if you search the forum, or possibly the manual will assist.

D'Fish is correct. When you connect the new Touch, iTunes will ask you if you want to set it up as new or restore from backup. I just went from 1G Touch to 3G Touch and had no problems.
