MBP Wont Turn on?

Hi,

I recently used my MBP and it was running very fine. Then after bringing it back home from work, It coudn't boot up. I pressed the power button but all i hear was the DVD Drive turn on then when I released the power button, everything, turned off. But when i keep holding the power button for around 5 seconds, the light indicator on the front of the laptop was flashing then it turned off.

Is there any solution for this?

Thanks,
Oakcapy

I just wanted to say that this may not fix the problem, but I have seen Mac laptops that are used with an external display experience the problem you describe. For what ever reason the Mac thinks that the external is there, you may try plugging an external back into the Mac and see if it gets the display. Long shot I know but worth a shot.

And just to verify... You reset the SMC correct?

i have the same problem, left in room, came back tried to turn it on, and nothing, hold down the power button and the fan starts and then the latch flashes, and then it dies! Need help, this is very frustrating considering i keep it in perfect condition and rarely move it..., to boot it has all my coursework on it and im doing exams atm!
