Safari on iMac issues

I'm having a lot of issues only on my iMac with Safari loading webpages and .aspx type environments. Firefox will load them on the same computer, so I know the proper software/plugins are installed and they'll open on my PowerBook, so I know it's not the web sites. Is there any sort of reset for safari other than the Reset Safari option in the Safari menu? I've tried that and it didn't work. When trying to load a page (that I know it won't) there's no internet activity at all. I was going to reinstall safari but the installer said I needed to upgrade to 10.5 before using it, I'm using 10.6...
Any thoughts?

Don't start deleting and reinstalling things; it will not help you in any way, and you'll create even more problems for yourself.

If you're having a problem, try this:

Quit Safari if it's running.
Go to Home/Library/Safari and delete these files:

• Form Values
• Downloads.plist
• History.plist
• LastSession.plist

Restart Safari and see if the problem continues.

Then try this:

1. Go to Home/Library/Cookies and delete the Cookies.plist file.
2. Go to Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari and delete the contents of that folder.
3. Go to Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Web Page Previews and delete the contents of that folder.
4. If you don't want to use the Top Sites or Cover Flow features, open Terminal and paste in this command:

defaults write com.apple.Safari DebugSnapshotsUpdatePolicy -int 2

then press Enter or Return and quit Terminal

5. Go to Home/Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari and delete the contents of that folder.
6. Go to Home/Library/Caches/Safari and delete the contents of that folder.
7. Go to Home/Library/Safari and delete these files (if you have them):

Then Repair Permissions, restart Safari and see if the problem continues.

I thought that at first too; they work fine on my PowerBook (Tiger) running Safari 4.
A guy at a local Mac store went off about the newer Macs running Leopard (and Snow Leo) being better because they could recognize errors in the logic board... which resulted in a system not working properly. I wasn't sure how that applied to my "inferior" PowerBook running fine and my "superior" iMac not working, nor do I understand really why that's a good thing.

Any web address that ends in aspx won't load at all.
